For three decades, the professionals at Bremner Real Estate have been key real estate partners for hospitals and healthcare providers, delivering strategy, financing, and development solutions across the United States. One recent change to a key leadership role promises to further that commitment to their clients. Bremner Real Estate recently selected Matt Bremner to fill the role of President.
Matt has more than 17 years in the industry. A proven leader, Matt’s experience developing in multiple markets has given him a better appreciation for the challenges that our clients face on a day to day basis. His experience includes senior leasing and development roles in Indianapolis, Washington DC, New Jersey, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Matt, a Vanderbilt University graduate, also has a Master of Real Estate from Georgetown and an MBA from Purdue. He was nominated to the Lehigh Valley Business Journal’s 2017 “40 under 40” list, as well.
CEO and Father, Jim Bremner, says, “Matt has seventeen years of experience with multiple product types including healthcare, office, retail and industrial, which provides him with a unique perspective and has proven to be integral in how Bremner approaches the development process.” Matt has completed numerous different deals ranging from smaller medical office spaces to 1.1 million-square-foot industrial buildings.
Matt’s commitment to real estate is about more than simply closing the deal, though. Matt said, “When you first start out in the business, you’re not really looking to do anything but get the deal signed. But as you work your way up, you begin to realize that real estate is not just about the deal, but truly building a reputation in the market as someone who puts their clients interest first and treats every architect, contractor and client like a partner. You begin to understand that your relationships in the market are everything, and that’s what Bremner really values, and I hope to continue building better relationships with our clients in this role.”
Matt believes in Bremner’s values more than anything else. He said, “Our focus is on our clients and the well-being of our employees. Our company is intentionally small. We want to make sure the relationship is the priority and not just maximizing our development volume. This way we can deliver on the kind of professional services that we believe our clients deserve.”
While it’s important to Matt to maintain the culture from Bremner’s earliest days, he is continually thinking about the future. “My goal is to continue to help the business evolve, to always continue to look at the horizon. Things change. You need to be creative and flexible in how you look at the business. Our goal is to keep it small, focused on delivering best in class service to our clients, but in the event that we’re able to scale it in a smart, efficient way, that’s an important opportunity we’ll take,” Matt said.
This promotion is what Matt has been working for throughout his career, and his gratitude for his new role is well placed. “My family plays a big important role in what I’ve done. They’ve continued to support me throughout everything,” Matt said.
Matt’s father, Jim Bremner will remain on as CEO and is an integral part of the company. “I’m thrilled to announce Matt’s promotion as it’s long overdue and he has helped position us for great things,” Jim said. “I love working with Matt and couldn’t be prouder of the trajectory of his career.”
Bremner has always been a strong company in the world of medical real estate, and with the promotion of Matt Bremner to this new role, that strength will only continue.
