Our story began 28 years ago in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Over the past three decades, we have become experts in development, management and strategic business planning within healthcare systems. But we haven’t always been Bremner Real Estate.
How did we get here? Let’s rewind to the late 1980s.
1989: Bremner & Wiley, Inc.
Jim Bremner–our current day president, founder & CEO–incorporated Bremner & Wiley with partner Mike Wiley and began focusing on healthcare real estate development. He built a team of dedicated young talent that developed exclusively healthcare facilities. His team was created on four cornerstones: comprehensiveness, compliance, integrity and stability. The company continued its expansion, partnering with hospital and physician groups throughout the midwest, east and south regions of the U.S. The team developed over $200 million worth of ambulatory outpatient space.
2004: Bremner Healthcare Real Estate + Duke Realty Corporation
Fast forward to 2004, and the company’s name was changed to Bremner Healthcare Real Estate. The team also made the decision to partner with Duke Realty Corporation–an Indianapolis-based commercial real estate company–to foster continued expansion on a national level through a joint venture relationship. Duke Reality officially acquired the Bremner Healthcare operating business and its real estate assets in 2007. In this joint venture, BremnerDuke applied its areas of expertise for a host of clients, developing an array of outpatient medical facilities and surgery centers, including complete in-patient hospitals. From 2007 until 2017, the team grew its portfolio to over 90 medical buildings with invested capital of $1.7B.
2017: Bremner Real Estate
This brings us to present day: Bremner had an amicable split with Duke Realty, as Duke decided to place its focus on the industrial real estate market. This means our team of healthcare real estate experts have ventured back to Bremner Real Estate with a new name and website, but the same commitment to excellence.
Bremner Real Estate will continue to focus on the strategic, financial and development solutions for its hospital partners. We have built, we have executed and we have delivered deals, while earning the trust of our partners and a continued reputation as an industry leader.
